Cerisi red jacket

Went to BHG Bugis with mum and baby K, shopped at the kid's department yesterday. i always wanted to get a jacket for baby K and was so happy that mum found this - Cerisi red jacket. there are two colours to choose - red and pink, i've chose the red one.

baby K wear it immediately after i made the payment. haha...

after that we went to a shanghai restaurant for lunch.

yesterday i had a gathering with my sec school mates at Bugis - seoul garden for lunch. we had our lunch from 1pm to 6pm, we were there talking and taking turns to ferry baby K around the shopping mall. in between i need to nurse baby K every two hours.

the nursing room was at level 3 - kids department and was tempted to buy more clothings for baby K.

after the lunch which was around 6pm, i headed back to the kid's department and brought some clothings and a mini clip fan for my baby. it was on a 20% discount.

mickey mouse collections was on 3 for $18 offer, i thought it was a good deal and the mickey mouse design looks good to me.

this M size cute little shirt was found on a mix and match rack. $3.90 only.

This romper was at $26, but was on sale at $6. it came together with a hat, i guessed it was S size, too tiny for baby K to wear.

Baby Care Festival at Expo 2010

yesterday i went to the Expo Baby Care Festival (with MIL, SIL, her 3 kids and 2 babies) as baby K was selected for the semi final for Baby Idol Contest under the sweetest smile category. i am so proud of her.

we reached there around 11.45am, it was my first time to baby fair. i went to the counter near the stage to register. there was a briefing at 12.30pm. i turned up at 1.30pm instead as i was nursing baby K, and at the same time she was a little sleepy therefore she had a very very short nap.

after the contest, i walked around the fair. before coming to this fair, i had a list of items to look for and wanted to buy, but then i missed every single bit of it :(

purchased 2 rompers (size: 12-18 months) and a copy of April issue - Mother and Baby magazine. (which was not on my to-do-list)

2 for $10. it looks comfortable.

baby k got her child visa and she can go to australia indefinitely till 2015. how cool is that...

bring baby k to Australian High Comm on fri 12.3.10, to collect her visa sticker. it was a 5 mins job but we stayed for around 20 mins to enjoy the aircon. it was hot outside.

since i was in town, i decided to take a cab and bring baby k to the Taka baby fair and have a look. it was my first time to baby fair. i did not want to make a fuss, therefore hand carried her for almost 5 hours. when i reached home, my arm muscle was so sore. it was tiring yet nice.

i was looking/aiming to purchase a sling/pouch to carry baby k around, instead of hand carrying her and there was a booth selling it. she looked professional. she asked for baby k to be her model and baby k was happy with it, she smiled. everyone was so happy, i think she probably drew a few customers or business for her. when it was my turn to try out, baby k rejected. immediately, i knew i m not buying it, coz if i buy it, i will not know how to adjust it.

i enjoyed shopping (even with baby k around) and bought 9 pieces of clothings for her. i was so happy, baby k was happy and curious, she looked at every little corners. she dozed off twice, quietly. i was very impressed. did not fuss at all.

baby k got her australia child visa, it was granted on the 18.2.10. that means she can travel to australia anytime.

i will have to wait till she's 6 month for her 3rd hep B injection before going to australia.

3rd month milestone

· 24.1.10 - Not wearing mittens but still wear at night, afraid that she may scratch her face. Still wear booties when going out.

· 26.1.10 - Introduced Bumbo seat. She was a little afraid and cried for help when we first placed her. After few tries, she got more comfortable and her head can hold for a rather long time. She sits for around 10 min.

· 29.1.10 – Turned her body to her right and faced down for the first time.

· 1.2.10 - Started sleeping for 8 hrs throughout the night.

· 1.2.10 – Kicked away her blanket and bean pillow for the first time.

· 3.2.10 – Grabbed my shirt when feeding her.

· When she is placed in her baby cot, she will wake up very fast. Preferred to sleep on the bed.

· Able to sleep latest by 10.30pm, usually between 9-10pm. On most days, she was asleep by 10pm.

· Sleep more as compared to her 2^nd month.

· Follow object from right to left, left to right.

· Loves to look at things – anything, especially TV program.

· Reject bottle feed if she has been waiting and crying too long (because of the waiting time to warm her milk).

· Make lots of noise. (Gee, grrr)

· Make “ke lian” sound. Scream a lot.

· Always asking for attention. She cries when nobody is around or no one is talking to her.

· She smiles and laughs out loud when someone communicates to her, even strangers.

· Head movement still a bit unstable - moving forward and backward. She can hold herself for a few second.

· DIY her left foot and hands prints.

· DIY her footprints and right hand print using the inkpad.

· Decided to latch her full time from now on. Not sure how much she drink.

· Average 1.5 to 2 hrs between feed.

· A bit of recognizes people, will smile to me often.

· Thumb still closed.

· Love to suck her fingers – mostly the 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th finger. At times, she was sucking the 2^nd finger and the 3^rd finger went inside her nostrils.

· Does not like to be in lying down position unless changing pampers and sleeping. Prefer to be carried in sitting up position, else she will cry and scream.

· Love to flip from back to tummy most of the time – including changing her pampers – making more difficult to change her pampers.

· Sometimes flipped to sleep side ways.

· Wear PETPET (Medium), Huggies Dry (Medium), MamyPoko (Medium) (at night) for longer sleep. Not wearing Drypers anymore – the tearing of the side tapes produce unpleasant sound and it woke her up most of the time.

· Poo (big amount) twice a week.

2nd month milestone

4 fingers open but thumb still closed.
Start to suck her hands at 6-7 wks onwards.
At 2 months, she does not sleep a lot – on average between 2 to 4 days, she sleeps at 2-4am after midnight. I feel that she might have some sleeping problem.
Stare at people.
Her first smile to me was at wk 5 and she started smiling randomly (meaning:- sometimes smile to people with or w/o people looking at her, smile in her sleep, smile blankly to the ceiling) at 6-7 wks onwards.
She started to flipped to her right on the 10th week - 29.12.09, in the early morning 7.15am. Dear and I were talking on the bed and suddenly we saw her flipping over.
Loves shower and the feeling of being undress, loves the feeling of the cotton towel wrapping around her.
Hate to change pampers at 7 wks onwards, not sure why, but often she will cry very loud to detest.
Make lots of noise.
Drink 110ml of milk from 7 wks onwards.
Wear PetPet(Small), Huggies (Small), Drypers(Small).

Week 37 checkup

Yesterday, mum and I went to Holland Village for Swensen ice cream and get our 1 for 1 free Hazel Daze ice creams (combination of wafer, halznut ice cream and chocolate fudge). It tasted a little sweet for mum, eventually she poured some water into her ice cream. haha. For me, it tasted perfect and nice.

After ice cream, we went home and rest for 1/2 hour, then went for my checkup myself. Luckily, the urine test was ok after a session of ice cream.

I had my 37 week routine checkup. the average waiting time was 1/2 hr to 45 mins, as usual.

I asked the gynae how heavy was my baby, he did not reply the first time, and I repeated myself again, he said i do not have to care so much and mentioned that baby will be around 3kg when born - very bad working attitude.

He said that my baby's head was very low, but did not mention when will the baby come out... he said baby will be out when it is time.

I have requested for more milk powder and this time, the girl gave me Similac Mum, he said other brands were all given away. Similac Mum is not the best option for me, it tastes extremely thick and weird.

Week 37

This week marks the 37th week of my pregnancy - also known as 'full term', which means I can deliver anytime from now on...

I am so happy that my pregnancy has reached week 37, without any problems at all. I am still all good, still feeling good, still doing my usual walk, still able to see my MIL once a week.

But, today I feel a little tired, a little heavy. Probably is time to have a very good rest...

Week 36 checkup

Week 36 - I had my routine checkup on Wednesday. Everything went as usual.

For 2 weeks, I have gained 1 kg and baby weight 2.2kg - It doesn't sounds good to me. According to research, baby at 36 weeks should weight around 2.5kg. Naturally, I feel sad. I felt it was my problem of not getting good food for my baby. Gynae did mentioned that my baby will be small when born.

He did a vaginal test, result will be out in three day's time. This time, he did not gave the scan image of my little precious, I was so sad. Every parent will like to see and have an image of the little one right? (He said there was nothing to see, just an image with a bigger head, sad right?)

Since this is my space, I will like to complaint about this gynae. He don't mention much about baby progress and when I asked, he don't answer to my question. Usually gynae will shared their experience on when the baby will be due when the dates get nearer... but he said baby will be due when baby wants to come out.

Till now, I still felt a bit unhappy with his services, I feel he had some attitude problem. He is always late and make every pregnant women to wait for him, including me. As a gynae, we knew that his time is precious, but what about our time? On average, the waiting time was at least 30 to 50 min. The longest time I had waited for him was 1 1/2 hr. Can you image?

I am really getting very frustrated with his services.

Let's see if he will do a good job when it is time for the delivery. Otherwise, I will not recommend him to my friends as well as getting him to be the gynae for the next baby.

On a happier side, the clinic girl gave lots of free sample milk powder to me. I prefer Anmum but was out of stock, therefore requested for Dumex instead. Similac tasted weird, therefore I am not keen in at all. I also requested for more this time, as I always like to drink 2 cups of milk per day. This week, the girl gave me a whole box! (There are 20 packets in it)

I was so happy as I don't have to buy any milk powder ! haha... Unlike in Australia, they don't sell milk powder for pregnant mum.

I think the clinic helped me to join the Dumex Mum and Baby Club as it was send to my PIL's address. I got samples, free gifts and discount vouchers from the company. It definitely helped to brighten up my evening :)

34 weeks checkup

Had my 34 weeks scan this week. I have gained 0.5kg in 2 weeks.

Gynae did a fetus growth scan, everything went good. He mentioned that baby was 2kg and he did not mention much.

week 32 checkup

Went for my checkup today - besides taking usual my prenatal vitamins (i started taking when i was in week 25), i was introduced to the new calcium tablets - it was meant to be good especially for pregnancy woman, it strengthens mum and baby's bones.

baby is growing very well and i believe she is very happy. today, she is 1.7 - 1.8kg.

the good new was ... i did not gain any weight and all my weight went to my precious!!! OMG, i was so happy and knew that girl girl got all the nutrients from me, definitely.

i am a happy mother - to - be !

my 2nd favorite fruit

in july, i came home and tasted a fruit that i have never tried before. therefore, i did not know the taste, i was thinking - will it sour or sweet. after my first taste, i love this fruit instantly. it tasted sweet and dear was telling me that there are lots of vitamins contained in this fruit. most importantly, it is very good for baby !!! naturally, i did not want to give it a miss.

unintentionally, i passed by the fruit shop today and brought it. i ate half of it when i got home and share the other half with my mum. she loved it too.

and is red inside 紅肉龍珠果。

$4/kg - $2.40 each.

this is my 2nd favorite fruit at the moment !

14.08.09 - Westmall

Went to Westmall today to subscribe a yearly supply of iweekly. I knew that there was a library in Westmall shopping mall, but did not went in before.

I went to collect the free goodies from the National Library, it consisted of a book for my baby journal, a baby first CD, baby height chart and some other magazine and information on parenting. The baby journal was a very good book, it documented about "before my arrival", "my arrival", "my family tree", "my baby shower", "my growth chart" etc... it will be our responsibilities to update them.

Later, I went to Tom and Stefanie and have a look at nursing bra, maternity clothes as well as some baby stuffs.

I had a nice day by myself !

I went for the routine checkup with MIL today. everything went fine and baby is 1 kg. i am so happy and glad. the gynae showed us her head, spine, stomach, hands and legs, and he also confirmed that our baby is a girl.

since the starting of this week, i could feel her, feel her movement, feel her weight. i could also feel that she is happy, same as her parent. she has been moving a lot and the movement was noticeable (if u look carefully at my stomach).

she has been waking up early (before me) and sleeping late (after me). can you believe it?

Week 28

This week marked the 3rd trimester of my whole pregnancy journey.

i am so happy, i can feel my baby - moving and hicupping. i can even feel that she is growing bigger and strong. i can feel her movements - her hands/legs/body (not too sure which part of her body) is rubbing against my stomach. the feeling is GREAT !!!

i feel that she doesn't sleep as much as her mum but she is definitely as active as her dad.

we can't wait to see her, but ... she needs to stay in my stomach for the next 11 weeks (till week 39) and hopefully she is born on the 12.10.2009 !!!

i am in singapore alone this week...

i had my favourite fruits - durians this week for 2 days. i ate a total of 11 seeds. not too much right...?!

i guess baby loves durians too, she has been kicking/hiccuping non-stop this week. very active. she started kicking even before i woke up and still kicking when i m in bed at night. in the end, i slept before her.

i don't feel like going anywhere, everywhere seems very crowded with loads of people. with a 26th week tummy, i don't think i will be able to squeeze through the crowd like before.

week 20 marked the first week/moment where i could feel my baby's kicking.

actually i could feel baby movement sometime in week 19, but wasn't too sure. it was like the feeling of hunger with a combination of noises in the stomach.

when i looked back, i knew that was my baby's movement.

i love her.

Week 14

This week - the start of second trimester, i felt so much more energetic than before. I used to sleep at 9-10pm before, but now i can managed to stay awake till 11-12midnight. hee...

Went to see doc on Monday to follow up on the results of my blood test and NT scan results, everything seems good.

My colleague just came back from her maternity leave and told me that i put on so much weight (without knowing that i was pregnant). Even if I was not pregnant, I really appreciate her frank attitude towards telling me that I was fat. Perharps I could give myself a slap and start working hard.

In the same day, another colleague told me i was getting more chubby...

Week 13

The last week of first trimester, I took half day leave to organise the NT scan on Wednesday. Everything looks good. I can see my baby's fingers, toes, hand, feet, face and body. I was amazed to hear the heartbeat, my baby was beating at the rate of 170bpm, with a crown rump length of 68.4mm. After seeing my baby, it gave me more motivation to eat and stay healthy.

Yeah! I am a happy woman.

Week 12

I am so happy that week 13 is coming... i can't wait to see my baby.

I have organised a blood test to be done on Tuesday this week as it needed to be done 3-4 days prior to the NT scan.

This result of the blood test was to match with my NT scan results in order to get an estimated result of the risk for Trisomy 21 (Down's syndrome), 18 (Edward's syndrome) +13 (Patau's syndrome).

this week i was not feeling good. i had this vomitting feeling since the start of the week. today when i was half asleep and woke up at 4.30am to the toilet, i could feel that my head was very heavy and very giddy. i went back to sleep and woke up slightly better and went to work.

when i brush my teeth in the morning, i had this vomitting feeling whenever the toothpaste was placed inside my mouth. i guess this is one of the pregnancy symptons.

I brought the palmer's cocoa butter massage lotion for stretch marks and used it, it smells nice. i used it in the morning after shower and and evening before bed.
